Celebrating Susann McDonald: Fundraising Campaign
On March 26, 2026, the USA International Harp Competition presented the long-awaited video screening event, Celebrating Susann McDonald, at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts in Bloomington. We extend our gratitude to the friends, colleagues, and students of Susann McDonald who joined us to honor her legacy and relish in her performances.
This event launched the fundraising campaign for the Susann McDonald Legacy Fund, an endowment which will sustain the First Prize in her name for years to come. Thanks to the generosity of the local and global music community, we have raised over 92% of our $100,000 goal! The campaign continues through June 2027.
Donors of $500 or more to the Susann McDonald Legacy Fund receive exclusive, limited-time access to the compilation video premiered at the March event. The 50-minute program features harp solos and duets with organ, including selections by Bach, Debussy, Godefroid, Grandjany, Handel, Pierné, Rameau, Renié, and Zabel. These rare recordings are sourced from the television show The Joy of Music and the CD A Tribute to Henriette Renié.
